Has a month really passed?

Strange how time flies. Work has been a bit slow, but then again I'm moving soon, so this gives me the opportunity to pack!!

What's new? (I mean besides the move.) A visit from family - very fun. Work lined up. Full time staff job offered. Full time staff job accepted. Lined up work canceled, but lots of guilt and potential regret ensues.

Move and new job going on at the same time. Stress.

More later.

Back to the Disco I go

This past week was spent at Discovery Studios.  I've spent some very long stretches of time at Discovery over the years. In a way, it's like visiting my home town. Some new faces sure, but a lot of familiar ones too.

The project: retool a BBC show on Autism for Discovery Health.

The show is truly fascinating, focusing on the relationship between parents and their autistic children. There is a lot of love there;  but it's a love fraught with difficulties.

Today is Mother's Day and I can't help but think about all those incredibly hard-working, patient, and brave women who are faced with the challenges of bringing up a child with autism.

The week

I spent two days this past week working on a promo for a client I've worked with several times over the past 5 years. In the past it was a great place to work, but this time around the vibe there was just sad, the general atmosphere: dark and gloomy. Their Emmy award winning show was canceled. They'd gone through a round of lay offs and my oh my, the doom and gloom was palpable.

But still, I enjoyed my time there - sometimes working with your long-term clients is like working with family. They can be a pain in the butt, but there's a whole lotta love there.

The rest of last week? More Crazy Sexy Murder.

Coming up? 10 days of Disco.
